Dublin SHC: it's a Cuala-Crokes final

October 01, 2012

Dublin's David Treacy
Cuala and Kilmacud Crokes will meet in the Dublin SHC final following their respective wins over Crumlin and Lucan Sarsfields in Saturday's semi-final double-header at Parnell Park.

Wing forward Barry Connolly registered 0-15 as Dalkey outfit Cuala defeated traditional giants Crumlin on a 2-19 to 2-11 scoreline. County star David Treacy's 18th minute goal had the winners in a strong position at the break, but Crumlin stormed back after the restart with points from Wesley O'Brien and Shane Ryan, and a 39th minute major from Adam McGreal.

However, a Cian Waldron goal at the other end enabled Cuala to regain the initiative and they ran out comfortable winners, despite conceding a second goal to McGreal with nine minutes remaining.

In the other semi-final, a brace of second half Jude Sweeney goals proved decisive as Kilmacud Crokes accounted for 13-man Lucan Sarsfields by 2-11 to 0-7. The scoreline does scant justice to the losers who dominated the opening 30 minutes, only to be let down by poor finishing.
