Former Westmeath footballer Rory O'Connell is auctioning the jersey (signed by the All Stars team from 2001) on e-bay from 18th to the 28th August next to raise funds for the South Westmeath Hospice. The auction is part of a series of fundraisers being organised in memory of Rory's mother Kay, and Richie's brother in law Davy Allen, both stalwart members of Athlone GAA and supporters of the Lake County who passed away in the past few months from brain tumours.

Together with a few family members, the lads are embarking on a 500km cycle starting in Athlone GAA on Tuesday the 21st and passing through Limerick, Cork and Kilkenny before arriving back in Athlone on Friday the 24th. On their return there is a benefit night with music by TR Dallas, Tightrope and others. It promises to be a great night and tickets are only €10.
