Reid appealing three-month ban
July 25, 2012

Donegal celebrate their Ulster final win over Down at Clones.
Former Donegal star Donal Reid, who is a key member of Jim McGuinness' backroom team, has received a three-month suspension.
The 1992 All-Ireland winning defender was hit with the ban by the Donegal Competitions Control Committee for an incident which allegedly took place after a club championship match between Red Hughs - who he manages - and Naomh Ultan on July 8. Reid was reported by referee Eugene MacHale - who previously officiated in Sligo and is an ex-Mayo footballer - for alleged verbal abuse and interfering with the match official.
According to The Irish Independent, Reid is appealing the suspension to the Donegal Appeals Committee. The former All Star was entitled to carry out his role as a physical therapist during Donegal's Ulster final victory over Down last weekend as his case is under appeal.
But he will be suspended for the All-Ireland quarter-final on Saturday or Sunday week if his appeal fails.
