Ulster Bank stars promote 25% Cash-Back on GAA match tickets.

Ulster Bank's selection of GAA stars - Kieran Donaghy, Darran O'Sullivan, Joe Bergin, Finian Hanley, Karl Lacey, Danny Hughes, Michael Fennelly, Seán Óg Ó hAilpín and John Gardiner - gathered at Na Fíanna GAA Club today to mark Ulster Bank's fifth year as official sponsor of the GAA All-Ireland Football Championship. The nine players, who share 16 All-Ireland's titles and 13 All Star awards promoted the Bank's ufirst and ufirstgold current accounts which offer 25% cash-back on GAA match tickets when booking tickets through ufirst membership services, amongst many other benefits. The GAA stars also launched year two of Ulster Bank GAA Force, the Bank's GAA club support programme.

GAA fans with a ufirst or ufirstgold current account can get 25% cash-back on up to four GAA tickets per match, an average saving of €20 for a family of four* per match. The monthly membership fee for Ufirst is €10 and for ufirstgold is €14. Existing ufirst and ufirstgold customers should contact ufirst membership services to book their GAA tickets on 1890 925 067 (ufirst) or 1890 946 486 (ufirstgold). New customers should ask about opening a ufirst or ufirstgold current account in their local branch or online at www.ulsterbank.ie.

Along with supporting the attendance at GAA matches, Ulster Bank also announced details of Ulster Bank GAA Force, which will return following its nationwide success in its inaugural year, in 2011. Almost 400 GAA clubs entered Ulster Bank GAA Force last year, an initiative that supports local GAA clubs across the country by giving them the opportunity to refurbish and upgrade their facilities.

Once again, one lucky GAA club will receive the top award including support worth €25,000 and four runners-up (one from each province), will receive a support package worth €5,000 each. The winning clubs will then come together to carry out the improvements to their GAA club facilities during the Ulster Bank GAA Force Winning Weekends.

Speaking at the launch, Ulster Bank GAA Ambassador Seán Óg Ó hAilpín, said: "This year, Ulster Bank's support of GAA Football means fans with ufirst or ufirst gold current accounts can get cheaper tickets, enabling more people to see live GAA this summer for less. We are also delighted to bring back Ulster Bank GAA Force, which was an overwhelming success last year. I know at first-hand how important the GAA club is in local communities and this initiative gives GAA clubs the opportunity to focus on much needed club renovation, development and renewal. It also creates the perfect opportunity for local communities to pull together to improve their club's facilities - embodying what Gaelic Games is all about in local communities."

Last year, St. Joseph's GFC Ederney in Fermanagh was announced as winner of the €25,000 top award. Ulster Bank also awarded four runners-up - Lattin Cullen GAA Club (Tipperary), Sean Dolan GAA Club (Derry), Kilglass GAA Club (Roscommon) and St. Joseph's OCB GAA Club (Dublin) - with support packages worth €5,000 each.

Ulster Bank GAA Force is open to GAA clubs across the island of Ireland. Clubs can register for Ulster Bank GAA from 31 May until 24 August at www.ulsterbank.com/gaa, where there is also downloadable tools and guidance on how to build a team of volunteers to help renovate your club during the winning weekends. The first 100 clubs to register for the initiative will also receive a support package worth €100.
