Belief is the key says Flanagan

Westmeath manager Pat Flanagan feels that his players need to believe in themselves.

The Midlanders take on rivals Louth in the Leinster championship at Pairc Tailteann on Sunday afternoon, with the Wee County having the better of the exchanges between the sides in recent meetings.

Following a league campaign that saw Westmeath avoid relegation, confidence in the squad should be high, but Flanagan admitted to the Westmeath Independent that his young charges needed to ooze more confidence.

"We're starting to prove to ourselves that we're quite capable of contending at this level, and if we bring that belief to Navan, we won't be far away," said Flanagan.
