Eamon Fitzmaurice is set to rejoin the Kerry senior football backroom team.

The current county U21 football manager acted as a selector under Jack O'Connor in the past and has been invited back into the think-tank following the departure of trainer Donie Buckley.

Fitzmaurice is believed to have indicated that he is prepared to return after Kerry's Munster SFC clash with Tipperary at Thurles on Sunday week.

The former All-Ireland winning defender left the senior set-up when he took over as Kerry U21 manager for the current season but the Finuge clubman will now assist Alan O'Sullivan with training the squad. Tweet
