Brogan's timely return

Dublin's Bernard Brogan
Bernard Brogan is on course to play in Dublin's Leinster SFC quarter-final against Westmeath or Louth on June 3 after making his return to action last night.
The star forward, who missed the All-Ireland champions' Allianz Football League campaign after spending time in Australia and then undergoing minor knee surgery in mid-March, scored two points after coming on for the last 15 minutes of St. Oliver Plunkett's/Eoghan Ruadh's ACFL Division 1 victory over St. Maur's in Rush. It was his first taste of action since he lined out for Plunkett's in their delayed 2011 ACFL Division 1 semi-final clash with Na Fianna last January.
Brogan now hopes to start Plunkett's Dublin SFC opener against Round Towers, Clondalkin later this month.
Dublin will continue their preparations for their first Leinster and All-Ireland defences when they face Luke Dempsey's Carlow in a SF challenge at the St. Finian's GAA grounds in Newcastle this evening (throw-in 7.30pm).
