Aidan Fogarty will miss Kilkenny's Allianz Hurling League final against Cork on Sunday week because of injury.

The Emeralds clubman, who missed most of last year's championship with a broken ankle, will sit out the Semple Stadium decider after breaking his left wrist during training last week. He hopes to regain full fitness in time for the All-Ireland champions' Leinster SHC semi-final against either Dublin, Carlow or Laois on June 23.

"It is a bit of a downer getting injured again after losing so much time last season, but I will just have to put up with it," he said in the Kilkenny People.

"In a best case scenario I might get back in four weeks, but I would need a little luck. It is still very sore and I have little power in the hand. I have been told that when the recovery starts things should move along quickly." Tweet
