Corey savouring every minute

Monaghan's Vinny Corey
Monaghan's Vincent Corey is pleased to have put the injury hell of 2011 behind him.

Having missed the 2010 Ulster final, the Clontibret clubman also sat out most of 2011 - including all but five minutes of the championship - as he was struck down by a series of hamstring tears.

He returned to the county side for last weekend's McKenna Cup win over St Mary's and is set to feature again against Ulster giants Down in Clones on Sunday.

After the setbacks of the past two seasons, the versatile Corey is enjoying every minute of action he can get:

"As any player who has been injured for a while knows, as soon as you are back you appreciate every bit of game time you get," he comments in the Irish News.

"You look forward to it then, whereas if you're playing all the time, and you're injury-free, you maybe take it for granted.

"Looking at this year, definitely from my own perspective I will be taking each game as it comes, try to enjoy each game, and just appreciate being able to play."
