Blow for Carlow hurlers

January 04, 2012

Dublin's Eamon Dillon tackled by Paul Coady and David English of Carlow during the Leinster U21 HC at Dr Cullen Park
The Carlow hurlers have been dealt a setback ahead of the new campaign.

Carlow manager Kevin Ryan has been informed by Ballinkillen hurler David English that he will not be part of this year's squad as he is set to emigrate to Australia.

English is a talented hurler, who represented Ireland under-21's in the shinty international last year and his absence is yet another blow for the Barrowsiders.

Already they will be without Erin's Own player Brian Doyle and Myshall's Dwayne Kavanagh for the coming season after both players opted out of the panel.
