Andrews focusing on Brigid's for the moment

Paddy Andrews has hinted that he would jump at the chance of a return to the Dublin set-up - but says that St Brigid's extended championship campaign is his priority for now.

The ace forward has been tipped for a return to the Dublin panel after demonstrating splendid form for Brigid's so far this season, helping them to capture the Dublin SFC title and book their place in the next round of the Leinster club SFC with victory over Meath champions Summerhill in Navan last Sunday.

Having missed out on Dublin's All-Ireland triumph this year, Andrews admits that he would be delighted to receive a recall from Pat Gilroy.

"Of course you want to be involved with Dublin, but that is a long way away yet," Andrews told the Irish Daily Star.

"Everyone has got to focus on performing with St Brigid's. Whatever happens, if we are successful, then it obviously puts you in the window for Pat to have a look at. But, for the minute, we have to really focus on performing with Brigid's and making the most of it. It is a great opportunity for everyone involved.

"It has been a fantastic year for the county so far GAA-wise. We certainly want to keep that going and if it means going all the way to Croke Park, we are more than happy to do that. It was just a great achievement for everyone involved with the Dublin team and it is great for Dublin GAA. There is a tradition there and we don't want to let that down."
