Kerry maintained their firm grip on the Bord Gais Energy U21HC B title with a hard fought four point win over Westmeath in Thurles.
The undercard to the A final was in the balance for long spells as the Munster men led by just two points at the interval, 0-9 to 0-7. The lead could have been far greater though, as Kerry hit a succession of first half wides.
In the second period Kerry began to dominate and moved seven clear,before Westmeath grabbed a last minute goal through Aonghus Clarke.
