Galway under-21 captain Barry Daly believes that experience will count for a lot in tomorrow's All-Ireland final.
The Connacht side return to the scene of their humiliating defeat to Tipperary in last year's final, but the Clarinbridge clubman feels that they squad learned a lot from that defeat.
Daly, who went on to win an All-Ireland club medal with Clarinbridge feels the whole squad has matured over the past 12 months culminating in Saturday's final against Dublin.
"We have a new management this year, as Anthony has brought in Mattie Kenny and Tom Helebert. It's been a great set up and because we've nearly the same bunch of lads, everyone wants to make up for the way we lost the final last year. I'm delighted. It's a great honour for me to be asked to be captain of this team," Daly admitted to the Connacht Tribune.
"You learn from experience and it was a great experience for me to win the club title on St Patrick's Day. Plus, this group have learned from our defeats.
"We showed that we didn't panic when we conceded two goals against Limerick in the semi final. Those goals came early in both halves and we just stuck with our game plan. Thankfully, we got to the pace of the game right and the start and we never panicked at any stage."
