GAA Rounders Academy

Excellent weather added to the enjoyment of the four days of batting, running, pitching, throwing and catching, with the event hosted by Cumann Naomh Mhíchíl, Lios Áine, Co. Dhoire.
The activities were led by a number of (Dalta Spóirt) older teenage players who are the most experienced in the demonstration of the basic skills of Rounders. Each day's program allowed for a short match in which players demonstrated their newly acquired skills and techniques, after they had participated in the comparatively new GAA Rounders Skills Tests.
Each participant will be awarded a certificate to commemorate his or her participation, and a record of personal scores in the Skills.
The Academy activities are available to any school or club which wishes to set up a venue and dates for the Academy tutors and coaches to present the detailed knowledge and skills which are structured to enhance all aspects of this growing GAA game.
'Acadamh Cluiche Corr' has been developed over the past five years with the cooperation of a number of mid ulster GAA clubs. The variety of skills (and micro skill drills) are crucial to the enjoyment of Rounders, and presented within the Academy program have shown that youngsters of any age can and will improve over the three or four days of general coaching and one to one encouragement exchanges.
The Academy is available to all Club, County and Provincial GAA Coaches. Participation by these members will enhance their knowledge of the game and their ability to pas on the skills and strategies of the Irish form of Rounders.
