Sligo keep Davey in reserve

June 24, 2011

Sligo's Brian Kennedy
Sligo manager Kevin Walsh has decided against starting Johnny Davey in tomorrow's All-Ireland SFC qualifier against Wicklow, despite reports that he is back to full fitness after a long injury layoff.

Attacker Colm McGee has also failed to make the starting XV, despite making a quicker-than-expected recovery from shoulder surgery. Walsh has, however, made three changes from the side that suffered a shock defeat to Leitrim in the first round of the Connacht SFC last month with Noel Maguire, Brendan Egan and Brian Kennedy coming in to replace Francis Quinn and the suspended Brian Curran and Alan Costello.

Tony Taylor is now positioned at full forward.

Sligo (SF v Wicklow): P Greene; C Harrison, N Maguire, R Donovan; P McGovern, B Kennedy, N Ewing; E O'Hara, S Gilmartin; B Eagan, M Breheny, D Rooney; S Coen, T Taylor, A Marren.
