Curran hit with eight-week ban

Sligo's Brian Curran
Sligo will be without Brian Curran for their All-Ireland qualifier tie on June 25 after he was suspended for eight weeks.

The centre back was cited for 'stamping' during the Yeat County's shock Connacht SFC first round defeat to Leitrim last month and could potentially miss the rest of the championship. Sligo manager Kevin Walsh is already resigned to being without last year's under 21 captain Keelan Cawley for the remainder of the campaign after he decided to spend the summer in the US.

Meanwhile, Fermanagh hurler Cathal McGarry has decided not to appeal against a 12-week ban for 'threatening language to umpires'.
