Banty offloads O'Connor, Burke and Byrne
May 04, 2011

Meath's Chris O'Connor
Chris O'Connor, Mickey Burke and Peadar Byrne has been dropped from Meath's SFC squad.
Ballinabrackey clubman O'Connor has been a regular fixture in the Royal defence in recent seasons and had developed a reputation as a point-scoring corner back.
However, he is not included in Seamus McEnaney's 30-strong squad for the championship. O'Connor didn't feature much during the league but was still expected to be named in the panel that will defend the Leinster SFC.
The other notable absentees are Longwood clubman Mickey Burke, who hasn't recovered from breaking his leg in last year's Leinster quarter-final replay against Laois and Ballinlough's Peadar Byrne, who is serving a suspension following an incident in a club game last year.
Seneschalstown's Brian Sheridan and Cormac McGill (Donaghmore-Ashbourne) are also omitted.
The newcomers include Paddy Gilsenan (Oldcastle), Mark O'Sullivan (Moynalvey), Willie Ryan (Summerhill) and Skryne pair Ciaran Lenehan and Ian Davis.
