A 20th Sigerson Cup went to UCC today as they battled their way past UUJ in the competition final at Belfield.
Early points from Sean Kiely and Mark Collins gave the Cork college the perfect start and they were three points up when Will Kennedy scored. It took nearly 15 minutes before Conor McManus got UUJ off the mark.
Kevin O'Driscoll made it 0-4 to 0-1 and their was only one further score in a tight marking first half as Conor Galligan left UUJ two points adrift at the interval.
Early scores from O'Driscoll and his namesake Barry O'Driscoll put the Munster men in control, but UUJ would not lie down.
Three quick fire scores left a single point in the game as McManus, Ciaran McGinley and Mattie Donnelly all pointed with a little over ten minutes to play.
The superb Kevin O'Driscoll put two points between the sides and it was back to the wall for Billy Morgan's side as they held out thanks to late points from Mark Collins and Johnny Buckley. Tweet
