Seven All-Ireland winners in Dublin U21s

February 22, 2011

Dublin full back Sean Murray
The Dublin U21 side to face Meath on Wednesday night includes seven of those who featured in last year's All-Ireland final win over Donegal.

Sean Murray, Darragh Nelson, James McCarthy, Ciaran Dorney, Gary Sweeney and Dean Rock were all in the starting 15 last May, while a seventh, Ciaran Reddin, is included at midfield having featured as a substitute against Donegal nine months ago.

Murray and McCarthy have started in the central defensive positions for each of Dublin's Allianz National Football League wins over the past two weeks while Ballyboden St Enda's man Nelson, who will captain the U21s from right half back, came on as a sub against Cork at Croke Park on Saturday.

Full forward Rock, meanwhile, has been passed fit to play having recovered from a hamstring problem but two more of last year's champion side, Eoin Culligan and Mark Coughlan, along with midfielder Craig Dias, are all unavailable due to Kilmacud Crokes' All-Ireland senior club semi-final against Crossmaglen Rangers this weekend.

Throw-in at Pairc Tailteann on Wednesday night is at 7.30pm.
