Ward loses out for Meath

February 18, 2011

Meath's David Morgan
Meath forward Cian Ward has been omitted from the side to take on Sligo in Sunday's Allianz NFL Division 2 clash with Sligo.

Donaghmore/Ashbourne's David Morgan (pictured right) is preferred at left corner forward to Ward, who spoke earlier in the week about the Royals' need to improve on some wasteful performances in recent weeks.

In the only other change to Seamus McEnaney's starting line-up, Brian Farrell returns to the side at centre half forward.

Paddy Gilsenan of Oldcastle drops out of the side, with Shane O'Rourke switched to corner forward.

The Royals will be bidding to bounce back from defeat to Laois on opening weekend against a Sligo side which drew with Donegal two weeks ago.

Meath (SF v Sligo): B Murphy; G O'Brien, K Reilly, C King; S Kenny, B Meade, C McGuinness; M Ward, C Gillespie; S McAnarney, B Farrell, G Reilly, D Morgan, J Sheridan, S O'Rourke.
