Mayo to be without Freeman

Mayo's Alan Freeman
Mayo look set to be without attacker Alan Freeman for the next four weeks after the talented youngster suffered a broken bone in his hand during last Saturday's draw with Down at Castlebar.

Freeman underwent surgery on Sunday morning and is now expected to miss out on the Westerners' next two league outings against Kerry on February 20 and rivals Galway seven days later

The Aghamore clubman, who scored a goal in the first-half of the draw with Down, could be in line for a return to action in mid-March, when Mayo take on Armagh at McHale Park.

Meanwhile, Seamus O'Shea and Trevor Howley have been ruled out of Mayo's FBD Connacht League final clash with NUI Galway on Friday night and ace forward Conor Mortimer will have knee surgery later this week to repair a damaged ligament that will keep him out of action for the season.
