Carr says he was an obsessive Gaelic footballer

Former Dublin footballer Tommy Carr has given an insight into his levels of commitment during his intercounty playing days.
Since retiring Carr has managed Dublin, Roscommon and Cavan, with his desire for success evident in all those roles.
Speaking on iTalk Sport on Setanta Ireland, Carr explained that he did not see himself as an outstanding player and thus felt the need to give everything in his pre-match preparation.
"I would have considered myself a professional playing Gaelic football because I would have made whatever sacrifices necessary and I was an average talent," said Carr.
"I would have done anything, I would have trained three times a day, got up and went for a run, pumped weights at lunchtime and then gone training in the evening.
"I would have sacrificed anything, career, education, just to make it. For me, I was an obsessive."
