Crokes to fight Morrissey ban

Kilmacud Croke's Adrian Morrissey
Kilmacud Crokes manager Paddy Carr has promised to "do everything we can" to have banned star Adrian Morrissey available for the AIB Leinster club football final against Rhode.
The Wexford star was hit with the ban after being sent off in an AFL Division 1 game against Erin's Isle last Sunday week, though there was initial confusion over whether he had actually been ordered off by referee Dave O'Donovan, and Crokes have vehemently maintained he was wholly innocent in the episode.
"We'll do everything we can," Carr said after leading the Dublin champions to victory over Garrycastle on Sunday.
"This is not about football. It's about basic justice. A lad who has never received a card in his life.
"We know there was a wrong done. I have huge respect for referees and the difficult job they have to do. But at the same time, when you see someone treated injustly, you have to stand up for that.
"We have never made an issue of non-availability but there certainly is a real sense of injustice and fury - and I use that word with capital letters -- in our dressing room over the treatment of Adrian Morrissey. Adrian Morrissey was sent off in a game where he shouldn't even have been spoken to. That is the truth.
"I know it and everyone who was at that match knows it. We have to stand up for our footballers and we have to stand up against things that are done wrong.
"I know Adrian Morrissey, he's a school teacher and every day he goes out and teaches kids the love of Gaelic football and then he goes in and tells the truth and people won't believe him."
Meanwhile, Carr isn't holding out much hope of Niall Corkery, who recently relocated to London for work reasons, being fit for the final on Sunday week due to an ongoing knee injury.
"Niall's knee is not right at all," Carr explained. "He's still in London and we will try and do what we can but it's highly unlikely he will be available for the final."
However, Dublin full back Rory O'Carroll is expected to make the trip home from France once again after making a surprise return for the win over the Westmeath champions.
