Antrim manager Mickey McCullough is already looking forward to competing in next year's Gala All-Ireland senior camogie championship after guiding the Saffrons to All-Ireland junior glory last Sunday.
"If someone had asked me at the start of the year what it would mean to win a junior All-Ireland, having taken a club to the senior title, I'd probably have said that we'd use it as a stepping stone to get back to senior. But, with hindsight, that was a bit naïve," he said after Antrim's replay victory over Waterford.
"Each one of these girls has come on, I mean the change in their style of play is incredible, you just have to look at girls like Shannon Graham, Raquel McCarry and Michaela Convery to see that change.
"On Sunday, Shannon scored one point from play, but she contributed hooking and blocking that saw us to victory. Her point at the end was just the icing on the cake, the same with Raquel and Michaela.
"I honestly believe that the winning of the All-Ireland was down to the leadership shown by a number of girls, especially our captain Jane Adams. It is fantastic to have Jane, Shannon and Raquel on the same team - other teams struggle to get the ball back."
