Manus Boyle eyes sixth Donegal crown

Donegal legend Manus Boyle
A hero of Donegal's All-Ireland football triumph all the way back in 1992, Manus Boyle is aiming for a sixth county senior football championship when Killybegs take on favourites Naomh Conaill, Glenties on Sunday afternoon.
Boyle, who turned 44 earlier this year, remains a part of the Killybegs panel, featuring as a substitute in a couple of Killybegs' games en route to a surprise appearance in the decider.
And the Donegal legend, Man of the Match in the '92 All-Ireland when he scored 0-9 against Dublin, will be hoping to land a sixth Donegal SFC winners' medal on Sunday - 14 years after his fifth.
In his Donegal Democrat column, Boyle wrote, "Glenties will go into the final as favourites, not because I say so, but because in the last few years their results have been better than that of Killybegs. Many of their players hold winners' medals from 2005 and have contested and won minor and U21 county finals while for the majority of this Killybegs squad it will be their first final."
Not wishing to appear too bullish, however, Boyle chose to sit on the fence instead of giving a prediction.
"As a Division Two side," he continued, "we were never expected to get this far but on each occasion we came up against First Division opposition we have always managed to raise our game to a new level ... If Killybegs are to cause an upset they will have to be at their best with every player playing to their best, and if Glenties do not play to their best they could be made to pay."
