Galway set Monday deadline for nominations

The Galway county board have given delegates until next Monday to come up with nominations to succeed Joe Kernan as the county's next senior football manager.
Former Limerick and Laois manager Liam Kearns has emerged as the favourite to tale over the Tribesmen, while ex-Clare boss Frank Doherty has also been tipped as a fromnt-runner, with the board keen to get their new man in place by the end of this month.
Other names which have been mentioned include current Galway minor manager Gerry Fahy, former Mayo midfielder Pat Fallon and Eoin O'Donnellan, who led Salthill/Knocknacarra to All-Ireland club glory in the past, while further afield former Dublin supremeos Tommy Lyons and Tommy Carr have also been mentioned.
