Galway GAA is mourning the sudden death of former All-Ireland football winner Mick Greally in Dublin.

A native of Ballygar, Greally lined out at left half back on the Galway team which defeated Cork in the 1956 All-Ireland final and he also played in Galway's All-Ireland final loss to Kerry three years later.

He first came to prominence with Summerhill College in Sligo, where he was a boarder and with whom he won two Connacht Colleges medals in 1954 and '55. He later enjoyed club success with St. Brigid's in Dublin.
