Galway manager Joe Kernan is awaiting a fitness update on big midfielder Niall Coleman ahead of next month's Connacht SFC semi-final against either Mayo or Sligo.

Coleman was forced to leave the field after suffering a leg injury during Annaghdown's 1-16 to 0-8 victory over St. Brendan's in the Galway SFC yesterday. He had just kicked a point before being struck by pain. Kernan will be hoping Coleman's injury isn't too serious with the provincial semi-final just under four weeks away.

Meanwhile, Padraic Joyce continued he fine recent form by scoring two goals in Killererin's 2-11 to 0-14 victory over the students of NUIG. Tweet
