Munster MFC: Kingdom survive Tipp scare

April 15, 2010
Kerry 1-12
Tipperary 2-7

Kerry survived two late goals from a brave Tipperary outfit to book their place into the last four of this year's EBS Munster MFC last night at Tralee.

The hosts started this game off in an emphatic fashion; kicking two points in the first minute before Thomas Hickey and Gavin O'Grady combined to send Mark Reen through the middle and the wing forward fired the ball to the Tipperary net.

Further scores from Eanna O'Connor and O'Grady sent Kerry into a 1-4 to 0-0 lead, before Tipp received their wake-up call and struck two points through Billy Hewitt and a free from Liam Boland to help leave the difference at 1-6 to 0-3 at half-time.

Kerry regained control after the restart, as O'Connor, O'Grady and Hickey pushed the difference out to ten points.

However, just as Tipp looked dead and buried, they managed to revive themselves with points form Boland, before the same player added a goal which was backed up with a second major in injury-time by Shane Leahy to leave the difference at two points come the long whistle.
