Kernan calls for more fight

Galway manager Joe Kernan
Galway manager Joe Kernan is calling on the Tribesmen to show more character in their battle against relegation.

Ahead of the Division One showdown with Ulster champions Tyrone at Tuam Stadium on Sunday afternoon, the Armagh native urges his players to dig deeper:

"We've not gone down yet - we have to believe we can stay up.

"We have three matches left and we will have to win two of those and you have to believe we can do it, even with so many injured.

"The players are on the panel because we think they are good enough and they have to go out now and show us they are good enough. Lads will have to step up to the mark.

"I know Tyrone and I know they will bring a work ethic and they will work hard for everything. Our lads need to match that no matter what happens in the match and no matter what the result.

"We have to work harder."
