Former Clare hurler Moroney to be honoured

The Ruan club will today unveil a memorial plaque to former Clare hurler John Moroney, who died in a road accident in December 1993.
John played for the Clare seniors between 1985 and 1993 and was nominated for an All Star award in 1986, a year in which Clare reached the Munster final, where they lost to Cork. Earlier in his career, he won an All-Ireland Colleges medal with St Flannan's in 1979 and a Munster minor championship medal with Clare in 1981.
