Having only recently discarded his crutches, Tyrone star Sean Cavanagh will walk up the aisle tomorrow. The 2008 Footballer of the Year will marry Dr Fionnuala Vernon, sister of Armagh midfielder Charlie. Cavanagh underwent surgery in September to repair ankle ligament damage sustained in this year's Ulster football final against Antrim, and isn't expected to return to action until the springtime. "Obviously it's a slow process recovering from surgery but things are going quite well. "But football will have to be put on the back burner for another while," the Moy clubman told the Belfast Telegraph. Another of Ulster's top footballers, Fermanagh's Marty McGrath,will also tie the knot with Roisin Maguire, daughter of former Erne County star Brian, on January 2. Like Cavanagh, McGrath has been battling injury of late and will also miss the start of Fermanagh's 2010 campaign, which gets underway with a Dr McKenna Cup clash against Armagh in Crossmaglen on January 10.
