Former Laois underage star Colm Begley has rejected a one-year extension at St. Kilda in favour of returning home. Begley's boost to county manager Sean Dempsey's plans comes after much debate as to whether he was going to stay put Down Under. The Stradbally clubman joined Brisbane in 2005 and picked up the Rookie of the Year award two years later. He was released by Brisbane after an injury ravaged 2008 season before moving to St. Kilda in the AFL draft, but only made a single appearance for the beaten Grand Finalists. Tweet
