U14 Camogie Championship - Round 2
Lough Lene Gaels played Castletown Geoghegan in a Round 2 Divisional phase fixture of the U14 Camogie Championship on Monday evening, May 26th.
Decotek Park, Collinstown was the match venue for the playing of this Round 2 fixture in overcast, damp and breezy weather conditions. A cross pitch wind driven misty type drizzle added to difficult playing conditions. Lough Lene Gaels scored a goal within the opening five minutes of match action. Scores though generally were not easily obtained for much of first half match play . Lough Lene Gaels then proceeded to score four points in succession as half time approached.
Lough Lene Gaels had the match lead at half time. Castletown Geoghegan brought great press to bear on the Lough Lene Gaels defence early in the second half, attacking play that was rewarded with the scoring of a point. Lough Lene Gaels then scored a goal, Castletown Geoghegan responded quickly by scoring a goal to keep themselves very much in contention. Thereafter, Lough Lene Gaels did obtain the scores that enabled them to win this Round 2 U14 Camogie Championship fixture.

Lough Lene Gaels Camogie Club informs it's Officer Board, Senior grade players, parents and guardians of juvenile and underage players, members and supporters, that the next lotto draw, for a jackpot of E4000, takes place at the Decotek Park Clubhouse, Collinstown on Monday June 9th at 7pm.

Primary Schools Camogie
Lough Lene Gaels Camogie Club expresses it's sincere congratulations to Collinstown's St Mary's NS on winning the Westmeath 2025 Primary Schools Division 1 Camogie Competition. St Mary's NS defeated Delvin's St Tola's NS on a 1.03 to 1.01 scoreline in the final, played at Mullingar's TEG Cusack Park on Monday May 19th. St Mary's NS Collinstown has now won the Westmeath Division 1 Primary Schools Camogie Competition on at least five occasions, namely in 2004, 2018, 2023, 2024, and 2025. Those same talented St Mary's NS Collinstown Camogie Panel of players went on to later in that same week to win for St Mary's NS Collinstown, the final of the Westmeath Primary Schools Division 4 ladies Gaelic Football competition.
Collection of "Copper" Coins
Lough Lene Gaels Camogie Club has in motion currently, fundraising ventures that will meet the costs of participation in the 2025 National Feile na nGael Camogie Competition, which takes place in Wexford on Friday and Saturday, June 20th and 21st. One such fundraising venture is the seeking of donations of "Copper" coins, namely coins of one cent, two cent and five cent denominations. Sincere Condolences
Lough Lene Gaels Camogie Club extends its sincere condolences to the wife, sons and other family members of Peter Tuite of Ballybeg, Collinstown, who died on Friday May 30th. RIP.
