We are holding a Race Day and 25th anniversary reunion for our 2000 intermediate football champions at Kilbeggan Races this Friday, May 16.
The fundraising event will include VIP access to the marquee, live music by Jiggers of Eireann ‘til 9.30pm and prizes for best dressed lad and lady as well as entry into a raffle for All-Ireland football and hurling final tickets and two tickets for Westmeath GAA’s Win a Home in Spain draw.
As well as being an evening for the entire community, it will be one of celebration as we honour the intermediate champions from 25 years ago. Under the guidance of future Westmeath, Sligo and Offaly manager Pat Flanagan, the team defeated Ballymore in the final with Aidan Gorry producing one of the best-ever individual displays in an IFC final with a haul of 2-8.
Tickets, costing €25, can be purchased from Kelly Anne on 086 354 0476, Colin on 086 158 3440 or any club member. You must be over 18 to attend this event. First race is at 4.50pm. A shuttle bus back to town will run after the event.
