Castledaly started brightest with points by Eamon Fleming MJ McLoughlin Gordon Duffy Derek Heavin and a goal from Darragh Kelly, all from play, to lead 1-04 to 02 points. Eoin Fleming added two free kicks for Castledaly to lead at half time by 1 06 to 1 03. Ballinacargy put the home defence under alot of pressure and defensively Alan Duffy Brendan Fitzgerald Niall O'Neill Michael Gavin and goalkeeper Paddy Golden had to work hard to minimise the visitors chances to score.
In the second half Castledaly continued to create chances as McLoughlin added 4 further points from play, combining well with Eoin Fleming, Eamon Fleming Alan Fitzgerald Eanna Gavin and Michael Gavin. Midfielders Gordon Duffy and Ken Larkin also created scoring chances for their team mates while also both added points from distance, with Gordon's effort from an almost impossible angle meriting special mention as games final score.
