Lough Lene Gaels Camogie Club player representation was included on the Westmeath panel of players that fulfilled a Round 2 match of Division 2A of the Centra National Camogie league, Westmeath v Carlow, played on Saturday February 21st.
The match was played at the Carlow venue of Netwatch centre of excellence, Fenagh. Westmeath 2.03 Carlow 0.06, was the match scoreline at half time. Westmeath 3.08 Carlow 0.10 was the match result, therefore a victory for Westmeath. On Saturday February 28th, Westmeath is scheduled to play Derry at a Westmeath venue in a Round 3 match of Division 2A of the Centra National Camogie League.
Leinster Minor (C) Camogie Championship
Lough Lene Gaels Camogie Club was represented on the Westmeath Minor Grade panel of players selected to contest a semi final match of the 2026 Leinster Minor (C) Camogie Championship, Westmeath v Roscommon. That semi final match was played on Saturday February 21st at the St Lomans Mullingar GFC grounds. Westmeath 2.06 Roscommon 1.02, was the match scoreline at half time. Westmeath dominated much of the general play of the second half, emerging eventually match winners by a margin of 22 points. The match result was, Westmeath 6.12 (30) Roscommon 1.05 (08). Eir U16 All Ireland U16 (C) Camogie Championship
Carlow’s Netwatch Centre of excellence, located at Fenagh, is where Westmeath opened its campaign in the 2026 Eir U16 All Ireland U16 (C) Camogie Championship, when playing Carlow in a Round 1 Divisional match of Group 2 on Sunday February 22nd.
Lough Lene Gaels Camogie club was represented on the Westmeath panel of players for the playing of that Round 1 match. Westmeath did not start very well, conceding three goals inside the opening 10 minutes of play. Westmeath 0.01 Carlow 3.04, was the half time match scoreline at half time. Westmeath did play very well in the second half of this match. The concession of those aforementioned three first half goals though proved crucial, Westmeath 1.07 Carlow 3.09, the match result. Commiserations to Westmeath as regards the result of the Westmeath v Carlow fixture. Westmeath’s next scheduled fixture in this competition, is a Group 2 Round 2 match, Westmeath v Meath, scheduled to be played at a Meath venue on Sunday March 8th.
