Ladies Fixtures, Results, Reports.

Ladies Football

Junior Ladies Football Championship.

Round 2

In round 2 of the Junior football championship our ladies took on Milltownpass on Friday evening last 15/8/25 in

Ballycomoyle on a glorious evening for football.

Ballycomoyle really got stuck in from the first whistle with some lovely free-flowing football, There were massive improvements from our first outing on Sunday last great teamwork, and taking opportunities when when they came our way.

Halftime score: Ballycomoyle 1-02

Milltownpass 5-07.

Into the 2nd half

and substitutions were crucial. Unfortunately, Ballycomoyle only had 16 girls tonight against Milltownpass 20, and in the heat this showed. Milltownpass bringing on 5 fresh legs .A yellow card for one of our ladies was unfortunate also and eventually the bal girls ran out of steam, with some fine scoring from the opposition.

Final score

Ballycomoyle 2-03

Milltownpass 7-19.

Thanks to Ken Daly and his team and to supporters for cheering on our ladies.

Under 16 Ladies football championship.

Result.

12/8/25.

Ballycomoyle faced a tough test in round 3 of the under 16 ladies football championship on Tuesday evening last when they traveled to Coralstown kinnegad to take on the home side .

On a very warm evening, the girls settled into the game very quickly and within 2 mins had registered the first score. They really put huge pressure on the kinnegad kickout, winning all of them and converting into scores. The first half was mainly played in kinnegads half with a hungry Ballycomoyle, punishing every mistake.

Half Time Ballycomoyle 10-01

Coralstown Kinnegad 1-00.

Onto the 2nd half and Ballycomoyle emptied the bench, but this didn't weaken the team as the goals kept coming. Kinnegad did register a few scores themselves. All 18 of these girls played fantastic free-flowing pressure football, and the crowd witnessed some great scoring.

Full Time. Ballycomoyle 13-12. Coralstown- Kinnegad 2-06

Thanks to referee Paul O Malley and to the travelling fans who came to support our girls.

Nxt up for the girls St Joseph's at home.

Ladies

Under 14 championship.

Result.

We welcomed Garrycastle to Ballycomoyle on Thursday evening last 14/8/25 for our third game of the championship in glorious sunshine.

The Ballycomoyle girls started strong and went into the lead early on, however Garrycastle fought back and soon both sides were level. We traded scores up to half time, with Garrycastle just snatching a goal from a free just before the half time whistle.

Half time score. Ballycomoyle 1-2

Garrycastle 1 -5

Garrycastle started the strongest in the second half and 3 Goals in quick succession meant the Ballycomoyle girls were playing catch up all though the second half. We managed to score another goal and 3 points but it wasn't to be our evening.

Final score. Garrycastle 5-12 Ballycomoyle 2-5

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the girls, thanks to garrycastle for a great game and we wish them well in rest of the championship,

St Michael's v Milltownpass.

Under 16 football Championship.

Result.

Our under 16 team were extremely unlucky not to come away with a result on Monday night last 11/8/25 in absolutely fantastic game of football. St Michael’s had there best performance of the year to date and just didn’t get the rub of the green on the evening another day we could have easily been on the right side of the result. Milltownpass to their Credit are a very good side themselves in a fiery encounter and a well contested game

Milltownpass came out on top by 4 points

Final Score:

Milltownpass. 7 -11 (32) points.

St Michael's. 3- 19

(28) Points.

Many thanks to Milltownpass for a super game of football.

And also thanks to Referee Eoin Cawley .

U14 championship div 3 Round 4.

On Wednesday 13th August Shandonagh travelled to Ballycomoyle for round 4 of the championship.

A warm evening and a perfect pitch set the scene for a tough contest between these division 3 rivals.

Shandonagh started well and opened the scoring with some well taking points and an early goal before the home side got to the pace of the game.

St Michaels got into their stride and found gaps to expose space and allow some classy scoring.

A nervous final quarter as the visitors got back to 3 points but 2 goals into the road end secured the points for Michaels.

Thanks to ref John Joe Brady for keeping the game flowing and best of luck to Shandonagh for the remainder of the championship.
