Our junior footballers traveled to Rochfortbridge on Saturday last 26/7/25 to take on Bunbrosna in the first round the junior football championship
On perfect day for football it was Bunbrosna who kicked over the first point after two minutes the Ballycomoyle lads were level after four minutes both teams traded points and after 15 minutes it was Ballycomoyle 0-03 Bunbrosna 0-03 on the sixteenth minute a well worked move by Bunbrosna was finished to the net followed by a further two points putting Bunbrosna 5 points up, but our lads were playing very well and on the 22nd minute the ball was finished to the back of the Bunbrosna net after brilliant move by our lads and on the 27th minute we levelled it up with a two pointer but it was Bunbrosna who kicked over the lead point on the stroke of half time.
Half Time Score.

In the second half it was the Bunbrosna lads that had the better start kicking over some fine scores and soon were beginning to stretch away and on the 17th minute of the second Bunbrosna goaled but our lads didn't give up the fight hitting the cross Bar twice and the upright the Ballycomoyle lads hit a further two points.

County Go Games.
On Saturday morning Ballycomoyle hosted u8 and u10 girls go games. We welcomed killucan, Bunbrosna, CFCW and St. Paul’s. We were blessed with the weather and we had a very enjoyable morning of football. Our own young girls showed off the skills they are learning every Friday evening at training. We are so appreciative of all the help and support that we received to run the go games. Huge shout out to everyone who refereed, made teas, marked pitches, helped with traffic! Thanks to all the young girls and their parents that travelled to Ballycomoyle and I hoped all the girls had a great morning of football and fun.

St Joseph's 4-10
Under 14 Championship.
We welcomed St Joseph's to Ballycomoyle on Thursday evening last the 17/7/25 for our first game in the 2025 under 14 championship. We started with the sun shining and got the scoring under way with some lovely points by the girls.
About 15 mins in however the heavens opened and the rain came down in lorry loads, the sideline was lined with umbrellas but this did not deter the Ballycomoyle girls who dug deep and kept the pressure up, going in at half time with a comfortable lead.
The second half started again with the rain getting heavier and heavier. Again our girls ploughed on. St josephs started to get to grips too and pointed some lovely scores but our defence was superb only allowing a few goals to get passed.
Our substitute goalie for the evening looked like she belonged in goals and was clinical in her saves, our defence and midfield ploughed on and the forwards were brilliant in taking any chance they could.
In the end Ballycomoyle came away with a very convincing win.
Thank you to St Joseph's, and to Referee Ray Farrelly, to all the parents who cheered on the girls and to the 17 girls who togged out on the worst evening of the summer so far.
We meet St Pauls / Delvin in the next round.
No ladies Fixtures this week.
