Ladies Football.

Ballycomoyle U14 Ladies travelled to Moate on Thursday evening last 12/6/25 in their second last league game to play against Moate Ladies, after a horrendous day of rain the game eventually started after a 10 minute delay, it was the home side of Moate who started the better, however the Ballycomoyle girls soon got on the score board and scores were traded each way . We went in at half time 2 points ahead.

It was moate who started the better after the half, and went into the lead of 12 points, however Ballycomoyle fought back and brought back the deficit to 4 points at one stage. We were very lucky not to score 2 goals in the dying minutes of the game. 

It was the home side with the victory at the final whistle.

Thank you to Moate and to the referee for a very sporting match, at one stage in the game our Ballycomoyle girls could be seen helping out their markers, tying laces and helping take off gloves etc. 

Credit goes to our girls who never hung their heads and kept going to the whistle, special mention to our injured teammates who travelled down to cheer on our girls.

Congratulations to our own junior ladies footballer Caoimhe McCormack who has made the U20 Ireland Women’s Rugby Squad. Head Coach, Niamh Briggs has named a 35-player squad for the 2025 Summer Series taking place in Wales.
