The Coralstown-Kinnegad GAA club will remember one of its finest young footballers and much loved members by hosting a brand new Gaelic Games Festival on Sunday, June 29th.
A talented dual star and a county minor footballer in 2019, Colm Murray was just twenty years old when he tragically lost his life in a road accident in January 2023.
Affectionately known as 'Rowley', Colm's football club Coralstown-Kinnegad have organised an action-packed and fun-filled day in his honour, with a host of activities planned at its splendid GAA grounds, starting at 1.45pm with a senior hurling match involving Raharney, whom he also represented with distinction.
The Coralstown-Kinnegad ladies and mens football teams take to the field later in the afternoon for their respective matches against neighbouring opposition, and it will be non-stop action across the three pitches, with games for U12 and U14 boys and girls, half-time mini U10 games as well as a Poc Fada competition and more.
On your marks... Pupils from the local St Etchen's, Clonard, Coralstown and The Downs National Schools get set to compete in a relay race on the main pitch.
There will also be live music, coffee, burger and ice cream vans and face painting.
Fr Tom Gilroy, PP, Kinnegad, will open proceedings with a welcoming prayer at 1.30pm.
Closing the day, Colm's sister Therese will perform the unveiling of a plaque honouring 'Rowley' in a fitting tribute to a very special and dearly missed son, brother and friend.
