St Michael's Under 14 .

Division 2

Round 5

St Michaels v St Mary's

St Michaels travelled to Rochfortbridge on Wednesday evening last 21/5/25 to play the last round of this year's league.

A perfect evening for football seen some excellent play and scores in a good natured game.

St Mary's had the upper hand throughout and despite some stout defending and good shot stopping from our new keeper the home team were never in doubt of the victory.

21 players togged out and all played a decent part.

Next up is the championship in a few weeks time.

Report.

St Michaels v Inny shamrocks

Under 18 league div 3 Round 5.

St Michaels concluded the league in Ballinacarrigy on Friday evening in damp blustery conditions.

A decent start from the visitors was soon snuffed out by superior opposition in every part of the field.

Inny shamrocks scored freely without reply for large parts of the match before some consolidation scores took the bad look from the scoreboard.

Next up is the championship in a few weeks for this group of players.

Under 16 girls.

League Division 1.

Our girls travelled to Rosemount on Tuesday evening last 20/5/25 in a rescheduled fixture with Cill Oige.

Our girls started very brightly, and for the first 15 mins, they were dominant. Some lovely interaction and scoring from the Ballycomoyle ladies. At Half time there was nothing to separate the teams.

Into the 2nd half and Cill Oige took control, their dominance took hold, and our girls simply had no answers. They endeavoured to keep the fight, but some quick succession goals made the difference.

Not to be tonight, but these young ladies never give up. Some of them now head off to junior cert, and we wish them all the luck with that. Div 1 was always a tough task but as a small club we earned the right to compete with the county's top clubs.

We will regroup and await the championship campaign.

Many thanks to the parents for making their second successive long away trip.

Match Report.

Under 14 girls.

Ballycomoyle u14 girls travelled to streamstown on Thursday evening last the 22nd May in glorious sunshine.

It was St josephs who started the scoring with a point from play, Ballycomoyle responded with a goal and a point shortly afterwards to get us in front.

We scored another 2-01before the break while St Josephs pointed another 7 very well taken points. The Ballycomoyle Goalie pulled off 3 amazing saves to keep Ballycomoyle in front at the break. Half time score was 3-02 to 0-08 points.

The second half started well for us when our full forward line netted three goals in quick succession, it was all over by then, but St Joeephs never gave in and found the net twice.

Congratulations to this amazing bunch of ladies who pushed on through very tough conditions, the sun and heat never died down at all,

Thanks to St Joseph's for having us, to Mary for the organising, to the referee who looked after the girls and made sure girls had water on board at every opportunity, to the parents and supporters who travelled. Thank you to the coaches and well done to the girls, who always have a smile and a few giggles when the games are complete. Ye are a credit to our club.
