Scór Sinsear County Final:

The Senior Scór county final was held on Sunday afternoon last, in The Downs GAA Centre.

Baile Uí Chumaoil had entrants in the Trath na gCeist, Amhránaíocht Aonair, Bailéad Ghrúpa and Nuachleas. Congratulations to the Ballad Group of Aoibhínn Dolan, Zara Geraghty, Naomi Fitzpatrick, Clíodhna Daly and Bláthnaid Daly who won the county title and to Blathnaid Daly, who won the solo singing competition. The girls progress to the Leinster Semi-Final, which will be held on Sunday, March 23rd, in Wilkinstown, Co Meath.

We were represented in the quiz by Peter McKenna, Piaras Walsh, Sean Dermody and Sean Daly and in the Novelty Act by Grainne Healy, Helen Coyle, Alison Keogh, Lorna McCormack, Sean Daly, Aidan Keogh and Piaras Walsh. Well done to all our participants, who represented the club very well on the day and best of luck to our Ballad Group and to Blathnaid in the Solo Singing in the Leinster Semi-Final in 2 weeks time.

 

Primary School Football Blitz 

As part of our engagement with the Fondúireacht Sheosaimh Mhic Dhonnacha scheme Baile Uí Chumaoil are hosting a Primary school football blitz. The Blitz will be held on Thursday next, March 13th, in Ballycomoyle at 11am. In total eight schools will participate - Collinstown, Fore, Castlepollard, Whitehall, Castlepollard Parochial School, Castletown, Finea and St. Ernan's Delvin. There are matches for boys and girls and we expect to hear some Gaeilge on the pitch and sidelines! Looking forward to a great morning's football.

Ballynacargy 6-09.

On Saturday last 8/3/25 our division 7 team travelled to Ballynacargy to take on the home side.

In a very entertaining match it was the home side that started better and were 1-02 to 0-01 up after 11 mins as the half went on it was the home side that added a further 2-03 to Ballycomoyle 0-04 to leave the half time score.

As the second half started it was both teams trading scores. This made it a very entertaining second half of football great scores were taken by both teams with some fine 2 pointers scored.

Gaelic 4 Mother and Others.

Come along on Wednesday nights at 8pm for some fitness fun and craic in the Castlepollard Gaa Astro pitch a great opportunity to get out get active and meet other women in your area. No football experience needed. Over 25’s only.

 

Car Wash.

Unfortunately we had to postpone our car wash due to take place on Saturday last 8/3/25. New date to be confirmed.

Underage Disco.

As part of our fundraising for Boots and Bling and to celebrate the return of underage training in the coming weeks we will have an underage disco on Friday 14th March. This promises to be a fun night with tuc shop on the night. Hope to see you all there!
