JFC ‘B’ quarter-final v Tubberclair
The curtain finally came down on our 2024 playing season last Sunday morning in Tubberclair when our second team came up short against the hosts in the much-delayed JFC ‘B’ quarter-final.
In a good, competitive game for this time of year, the concession of two soft goals proved costly as we lost out on a 1-9 to 4-8 scoreline. Thanks to the players and outgoing management for all their efforts this year.
Team: Niall Rabbitte; Martin Ward, Alan Fennell, Mel Kiernan; Mark Sonner, Mark Wrafter, Arthur O’Rourke; Padraig Carton, Micheál Coffey; Danny Scully, Conor Delaney, Cathal Finn; Shane Gorry, Michael Carton, Cathal Maher.
Ladies football
We are very excited to have our senior ladies football team back for the coming season after a lapse of a few years.
Ahead of their return to action, we would like to invite everyone to come along to St James’ Hall this Friday, November 29 at 7pm and have a chat with the management team. Whether you’re interested in playing or the future of ladies football in Kilbeggan, then this meeting is for you. We will be fielding girls / ladies teams in every grade from U8 upwards in 2025, so the future is bright!
Staying with ladies football, congratulations to Sabrina Nannery and Bernie Barrett on being shortlisted for the Westmeath LGFA Volunteer Awards, and to Brendan Nannery on his nomination for Club Coach of the Year.

Cork Business Person of the Year
Congratulations to former Kilbeggan and Westmeath footballer Eugene Scally on being named Cork Business Person of the Year 2024.
Eugene was honoured last weekend for his business acumen and his multi awarding-winning Scally's SuperValu Clonakilty store which, coincidentally, is celebrating 40 years in business this year.
