Ladies football.

LGFA

U16 ladies Division 3 championship final

Ballycomoyle v Athlone

Our girls travelled to Killucan in a repeat of last years final taking on Athlone. From the first whistle, it was clear to all our supporters that we were not going to suffer another heartache of losing this final. The girls started strong with some quickly taken goals in the first half, and really solid defending kept Athlone to shooting for points. Ballycomoyle scored 4 unanswered goals in the first half.

Half Time

Ballycomoyle girls 4-05

Athlone. 0-04

Into the 2nd half, and it was vital we kept Athlone at a distance, but alas, they struck with a goal early on. But our girls rallied hard, as the weather conditions got worse, both teams went at it full blast. Athlone hit 2 goals in quick succession, but Ballycomoyle kept grinding away, scoring 3 more of their own. It was a fantastic effort from all 24 on the panel. With 3 mins injury time, the sweet sound of the Referee's whistle meant, Ballycomoyle were Div 3 county champions.

This was a fantastic result for our girls we as a club are extremely proud of you all.

Behind every great team there is a great management team.

Congratulations to the management team.

To the parents of the girls, we can't thank you enough for making sure the girls were always at training. And if we needed any help throughout the year you were always there to make yourselves available to help us out.

Many thanks to Athlone for a very sporting game of football.

Many thanks to Referee Barry Nea and his team of Officials.

On job well done.

Many thanks to all our supporters for coming along, your voices were heard aloud.

Thanks to all our sponsors. Vitas & Co. Larry Masterson Agri, Salmon bus hire, and those others who want to remain anonymous.

Onto Div 2 next Year for this amazing group of talented girls.

Junior men.

Junior B Football competition.

Our junior B team travelled to Multyfarnham to take on the home side in the last round of the group games.

In a very entertaining game of football.

Going in at half time the game was all square. In the second half the Multy team just got the better of the Ballycomoyle lads to bag the 2pts on offer.

Our lads have now finished in second place in group

 2.

And now have qualified for the quarter final of the junior B Football Competition.

Well done lads.

Congratulations.
