Elizabeth (Liz) Cahill 1978 - 2024

 

Lough Lene Gaels Camogie Club notes with sincere and profound sadness and grief, the death of Elizabeth (Liz) Cahill, née Shaw, which took place peacefully at Milford Care Centre, Limerick on Monday October 14th. 

A resident of Ballincor, Shinrone, Offaly, Liz was a native of Riverdale, Raharney. 

Liz served the Westmeath Camogie Board as a Vice Chairperson, and later as its Chairperson. 

Liz also played the sport of Camogie for Raharney, winning Seven Westmeath Senior A Camogie Championship medals in the process, and also played for Westmeath in various grades of Camogie. 

Liz's Funeral Mass took place at St Patrick's Church, The Pike, Ballingarry, on Tuesday October 15th, commencing at 12 noon. Thereafter, Liz was laid to rest at the adjoining Cemetery. 

Predeceased by her father Jack, Liz is mourned by her husband Denis, sons Donnacha and Cormac, her mother Kathleen and her husband Shay, brothers Brendan, Fergus and John, sisters Treasa and Catherine (McCormack), parents in law Dinny and Marion, brothers in law, sisters in law, other family members, close and extended, neighbours and friends. RIP.

Lough Lene Gaels Camogie Club extends its sincere condolences to all of the aforementioned, at this very sad time.

 

Minor B Camogie Championship 

 

Lough Lene Gaels Camogie Club, at the time of forwarding this article for publication, is scheduled to play St Munnas Camogie Club in a  semi final fixture of the Minor B Camogie Championship. 

That fixture may be played during the course of next weekend. Players are requested to please contact the team management in order to confirm all details of this semi final fixture.

 

Congratulations

 

Lough Lene Gaels Camogie Club extends its sincere congratulations to Ballycomoyle LGFC on recently winning the Westmeath LGFA Junior B Championship title, and a Westmeath LGFA U16 Championship title. In particular, Lough Lene Gaels Camogie Club sincerely congratulates its players who were members of both of those successful Ballycomoyle LGFC panels of players.
