Junior men.

Our junior 1 team took on St Lomans in the quarter final of the Clarkes junior football championship on Saturday last 14/9/24

The Ballycomoyle lads came into this match as under dogs in this quarter final match.

But it doesn't always work out that way.

With St Lomans playing with a very strong breeze in the first half,

there wasn't a lot between the two teams and in fairness the Ballycomoyle lads were giving as good as they were getting.

As the first half came to an end it was St Lomans that used the breeze to their advantage and went in half time leading on a scoreline of.

St Lomans.      1-09

Ballycomoyle.  1-03

In the second half the Ballycomoyle lads really played their hearts out

and came within 3 points of St Lomans. There was nothing between the two teams in the second half with some fine football played by both teams and some fine scores taken.

As the final whistle sounded it was St Lomans that advanced to the junior 1 semi final .

Final score

Ballycomoyle 3-06

St Lomans Mullingar. 2-16

LGFA.

Under 16 girls qualify for County Semi final with a fantastic win over the Downs.

A huge congratulations to our under 16 girls on fantastic win over the Down's in the quarter final of the Division 3 championship played in the Downs on Tuesday evening last 10/9/24.

Our Under 16 girls travelled to the Downs on Tuesday evening last 10/9/24 in the championship quarter final. Our girls knew they had to win to remain in this year's under 16 championship. Our girls went out with pure determination to reach the Semi final of this years championship.

From the first whistle the Ballycomoyle girls got stuck in kicking the first few scores. The Downs hit back with points of their own, both teams trading scores before half time. As the half time whistle sounded.

The half time score read.

Ballycomoyle 0-08

The Downs 0-04

As the half time started the Downs kicked the first point but after that it was the Ballycomoyle girls who really got stuck into the second half scoring 3-01 in the remaining of the half without a reply from the Downs.

Final score. Ballycomoyle 3-09

The Downs 0-05

We now face Caulry in the championship semi final.

Please note.

All of the Under 16 girls and coaching team and panel want to extend their Sincere Sympathy to our fellow coach and Friend Colm Murphy on the very sad passing of his mother. May Colm's mam Rest in peace. Amen.

LGFA blitz.

Under 8 / Under 10

Was hosted by C/F/C/W.

On Saturday last 14/9/24.

Both our teams played CFCW and Multyfarnham.

Fantastic turnout of Ballycomoyle Girls.

Many thanks C/F/C/W for hosting the Blitz.

Congratulations.

Under 10 and 12 Boys.

On Sunday last 15/9/24 our under 10 and under 12 boys travelled to Clonmellon to play in the annual Darragh Farrelly memorial cup.

It was a perfect day for football and the sun did shine. The two games were very competitive and we were all treated to two excellent games of football.

The under 10 game showed great team work and determination which saw the boys work together to earn them a well-deserved win over a super St. Paul’s team.

The under 12 Boys game was an excellent game with the boys used their great team work with passing and skills to also earn them a deserving win.

Thanks to St. Paul’s for hosting and for the fabulous spread afterwards. Thanks to the Farrelly family also and the words spoken after were very inspiring.

We had nearly 40 boys coming home with smiles on their faces and the cups to show their efforts!

The future is bright for Ballycomoyle with these fantastic boys!
