Lough Lene Gaels Camogie Club

PJ Fulham

Lough Lene Gaels Camogie Club records with profound regret in this, its club article, the death of PJ Fulham, which took place on Saturday August 31st.

Mr Fulham served the sporting and cultural activity that is Camogie across a spectrum of roles of administrative officers over the course of decades, making a very positive indelible contribution in every office in which he served. In one such capacity, PJ Fulham was the Chairman of the Westmeath Camogie Board from the years 1978 to 2004 inclusive. He also served the Camogie Association as President of Leinster Council, and as PRO of the National governing body of Camogie. PJ Fulham also served the Westmeath GAA Board in the office of Chairman, and the Westmeath GAA underage and juvenile Board, also in the office of Chairman. The Midlands Club Camogie Feile na nGael competition of 1997, was one of many of PJ Fulham's innovative ideas, in a Camogie context, which itself was a sporting and cultural success. The then Westmeath Camogie Board officer Board carried out their assigned duties superbly over the course of the weekend of that event.

Lough Lene Gaels Camogie Club extends its sincere condolences to PJ's partner Mairin, who herself gave magnificent service to Camogie in a variety of administrative roles, son Peter, daughters in law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, other relations, neighbours and friends.

Lough Lene Gaels Camogie Club has one remaining scheduled fixture to play in group 1 of the Senior Camogie Championship. That fixture is a Round 3 fixture, Lough Lene Gaels v Castletown Geoghegan. That fixture is in the "must win category" from a Lough Lene Gaels perspective, if the Purple and Golds are to maintain the ambition of qualifying for the semi finals phase of this competition.
