Lough Lene Gaels and Castlepollard contested a Round 2 Divisional fixture of the SHAC on Friday evening, August 2nd. Mullingar's TEG Cusack Park was the match venue, these two clubs having contested a fixture of then named SHC, for the first time ever 50 years previously, on Sunday July 7th 1974. 

In this latest installment of the R395 derby, Lough Lene Gaels 0.09 Castlepollard 0.06, was the half time match scoreline. 

With 10 minutes of normal playing time remaining, the outcome of this match was still very much in doubt. 

Lough Lene Gaels 1.13 Castlepollard 1.09, was the then match scoreline. 

Lough Lene Gaels outscored Castlepollard 1.03 to 0.01 in the match action that thereafter took place. 

Lough Lene Gaels won this match by a margin of nine (9) points.

24 Hours Walkathon 

 

Decotek Park, is where from Friday August 23rd, starting at 7pm, until Saturday August 24th, concluding at 7pm, a 24 hours Walkathon takes. 

Proceeds from this event are in aid of proposed development works at Decotek Park. 

The teams that will take part in this 24 hours Walkathon, have arranged a number of fundraising events to fund raise for this 24 hours Walkathon. 

Please support, where possible, those very same fundraising events.

 

2024/2025 Lotto Membership Year.

 

The 2024/2025 lotto membership year, starts on Sunday September 1st 2024, and ends on Saturday August 31st 2025. There is one lotto draw of the 2023/2024 lotto membership year yet to take place. That lotto draw is scheduled to take place on Sunday August 18th. 

Those members of the lotto for 2023/2024, who wish to members of the lotto for 2024/2025, are requested to please contact Patrick Keane at Collinstown's Daybreak Shop as soon as possible. The same advice also applies to intending new members of the lotto for 2024/2025.

Sincere Sympathy 

 

Lough Lene Gaels Hurling Club extends its sincere sympathy to the family of Noel Poynton (Snr), Williamstown, Delvin, a past Chairman and player of Turin Hurling Club, who died on Sunday July 28th. RIP.
