Minor Grade D1 Camogie championship

Lough Lene Gaels played Castletown Geoghegan on Wednesday evening, May 15th, in a Round 2 fixture of Group 2 of Group 1 of the Division 1 Minor Camogie Championship. Having lost to a group team  of Castlepollard/Crookedwood in a Round 1 fixture if the same competition, Lough Lene Gaels required a victory in this Round 2 fixture, if the objective of qualifying for the knock out element of this competition was to be still maintained as a realistic ambition.

Lough Lene Gaels turned in a good team performance to win this Round 2 fixture versus Castletown Geoghegan. Lough Lene Gaels though must also win their two remaining Group 2 fixtures versus Delvin and Drumraney, if the Purple and Golds are to qualify for the aforementioned knock out phase of the Division 1 Minor Camogie Championship.

U16 D1 Camogie championship

Decotek Park,Collinstown, is where on Monday evening, May 20th, Lough Lene Gaels played Drumraney in a Round 3 group fixture of the U16 Division 1 Camogie Championship. Lough Lene Gaels, having lost a Round 2 group fixture of this same competition to Raharney, at Raharney, 14 days previously, had to win this Round 3 fixture v Drumraney, to maintain a realistic possibility of qualifying for the concluding phase of the U16 Division 1 Camogie Championship. Lough Lene Gaels obtained important scores in the second half, which enabled the Purple and Golds to defeat a very good and camogie capable Drumraney team.
